Our Story

Rokstars was created for businesses that are tired of treating people problems like random emergencies.

A bad hire is rarely just a bad hire. Turnover is rarely just turnover. And the admin who suddenly owns hiring at 10 PM is usually a sign of something bigger.

Why Rokstars Exists

The hiring process was never documented. The onboarding was rushed. Managers were already wearing five hats. Policies lived in someone's head. Training happened when there was time.... which usually meant never.

And then everyone wonders why the business feels stuck.

Rokstars exists to fix the people side of business before it becomes another fire someone has to put out.

We combine managed HR support, recruiting, accessibility, and workforce guidance into one place - through our R3 OS framework: Reach, Recruit, and Retain -- powered by Zenna, our 24/7 recruiting concierge.

But Rokstars is not just another software login. We do the work. Not just the strategy.

The Human Behind Rokstars

Nadine Carr founded Rokstars from lived experience - not theory.

In May 2020, at the start of the pandemic, Nadine lost her sight. There was no adequate medical response. As a mom, stopping was not an option. Sight loss isn't dead -- but it does change everything, and the world around you does not pause to help you figure that out.

What followed was not a quiet recovery. It was a decision to keep going -- and to pay attention to what she was learning.

Nadine was given the opportunity to both participate in and serve as career coach and post-program mentor for a digital accessibility program approved by the Ontario Ministry of Training, facilitated by Mohawk College Enterprise and Owlware Ltd.

Working with people with disabilities who were trying to find employment, she saw exactly how broken the system was -- not in theory, but in practice, case by case.

During a corporate career where her vision was deteriorating, Nadine was told to apply for ODSP instead of being supported to keep working. Her employer treated her like a liability overnight. She was later told -- off the record -- that being Black, a woman, and blind was a triple disadvantage that worked against her at every turn.

That experience did not make Nadine angry. It made her clear.

WCAG compliance is not just a website issue. It is about whether real people can access jobs, services, workplaces, and opportunities. Accessibility is an employment equity issue -- and businesses that ignore it are not just leaving money on the table. They are leaving people behind.

That clarity -- hard-won and credential-backed -- is what shapes the way Rokstars works. The right person in the right role, supported by clearer processes, better training, and a workplace that actually works for real people -- that can change the direction of a business. That is what Rokstars is designed to do.

What Others Say

"Nadine and her team of consultants are the only ones who've been completely honest about where we stand. They don't just tell us what we want to hear -- they take action and eliminate the guesswork of what to do next."

Where We Are Going

Rokstars is building toward becoming the managed HR and recruiting partner of choice for businesses that want to grow without burning people out in the process.

Not just better technology..... better people systems. Stronger workplaces. Leaders who understand that profitability and people are not in conflict - they are connected.

When businesses stop treating people problems like side issues, they unlock better hiring, stronger retention, and more sustainable growth. That is the future Rokstars is working toward - one business at a time.

Because the future of business growth is people. Full stop.

The things we will never compromise on

These are not aspirations. They are operating standards.

Honesty, even when it is uncomfortable

We will tell you what your business actually needs - not what you want to hear. If something is not working, we will say so. That is how trust gets built.

No pretending

We do not oversell, overpromise, or perform expertise we do not have. What you see is what you get -- and what you get is real, experienced support.

Accountability without excuses

We hold ourselves to the same standard we help our clients build. If something goes wrong, we own it and fix it. Blame without action is not something we do.

Responsibility to the whole picture

HR decisions affect real people's lives. We take that seriously - the employer, the employee, and the community they both belong to.
